The birth of a dream

Bodegas Prado de Olmedo is the dream of the Fernández Gil family.
Marcelino and his daughters, convinced of the great potential of their vineyard, founded the winery in Quintana del Pidio, a village with family roots, located in the heart of the ribera and where the whole family works to transmit this dream in every bottle of wine.

Deep breathing to merge with the earth

Year after year, harvest after harvest, furrow after furrow, vintage after vintage…

The Fernández family has 46 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 60 years, with vineyards that are over 80 years old, which gives the grapes unique characteristics in terms of aromas, tannins and antoncians.
The soil where the vineyard is located is of a calcareous clay type.
The low rainfall throughout the year, together with the climatic fluctuations with total oscillations of up to 20 and 30 ºC, produced by the severe frosts of winter and the overwhelming heat of summer, make the Tinta del País grape variety unique in this area.

Nowadays Bodegas Prado de Olmedo wants to recreate the rural history of this village by producing wines that are worthy of its history and its name.
This is the reason for the exquisite care and dedication of its wines, making our reds with the Tinta del Pais variety and our whites with Albillo Mayor.
